We took off again. Along the way we stopped at a rest stop in California and Fiona took some pictures of mommy, birds and the ground and trees.
See the bird?

Flower Power

Fiona wrote this poem the other day about being flower girl for her big sister’s wedding this coming Saturday.

I am going

to be my sister’s

flower girl.

The dress is white (ivory really) and has sparkly sequins and we’re adding a clover green sash and bow.

Fiona also drew this picture that has nothing to do with being a flower girl.

Interesting Cacti Facts at Burnt Well Rest Area and Wind Energy

We had an early morning rise Monday, February 28, at 7 am to start the trek from Arizona back to California for three weeks. Our first stop was at the Burnt Well Rest area about 80 miles from the California border.Burnt Well Rest Area

We took this picture of facts posted about cacti you might find interesting.

A bit later we stopped at another rest stop and learned about wind energy. This area has lots of windmills in a wind farm.

Field Trip to Papago Park in Phoenix Arizona

Today we took a field trip to Papago Park in Phoenix Arizona. It’s about a 30 minute drive from where we’re staying with friends in Mesa. Fiona was very brave and walked up to the Hole in the Rock and back down again. After we ate lunch, Fiona got to feed the birds in the pond. We went through a whole loaf of bread. She and Virgie then explored the outskirts of the pond.

Theme Song of Pink Strawberry Land and Other Adventure Songs

Fiona wrote these songs some time ago.

The Theme song of Pink Strawberry Land

Strawberries are pink, not red.
Everyday there’s time to play.
But that’s all to say for today.
Thanks for a theme.
This is a real song.

Save The Pink Balloons

The balloons are going to be popped by
the wind on this most sunny day.
But that’s all to say, for today.
Save the balloons!

Strawberries Straw Bear

So many strawberries grow around you.
You could make a strawberry milkshake.
But most of all if you have
different kinds of fruits all around you,
you could just listen to them all day long.
But bye-bye everyday is just
what you don’t have to say.
Bye-bye.

Strawberry Balloons

The balloons of here are all pink.
But the one balloon called the
balloon suner is blue.
If you can believe it a diamond is
more than one speck.
All sorts of colors and shapes
in the dullers.

Sleep Day

Don’t sleep at day.
It’s too much
bright at day.
Just don’t go away.
Every night go to sleep.
Just not at day.
That means every day
you lay down.
Bye-bye

Visiting Mrs. Parker’s Kindergarten Class in Colorado

Fiona had such fun visiting Mrs. Parker’s class this week. She was sad to leave after such a short visit.

Fiona got to show the class where she’s traveled. After the school day ended, Fiona took a few minutes to read a book to herself in the class room.

Daddy also got to play his mandolin for the class.

And the next day, Fiona was in Castle Rock for a short while.

Fiona says hello to Mrs. Parker’s class and wants them to know she’s now in New Mexico.

Fiona in Missouri and Kansas

Fiona is homeschooled and learning a lot as we travel around. She’s recently been in Missouri and Kansas. A class in a school in Denver Colorado is following her blog so she’s taking pictures of places she’s recently been, posting them here and waving hi to the class. Enjoy!
